In 1922 Simon JARITZ bought the little sawmill from Mr. Hanns Huss in Ferlach/Carinthia, Austrias most southern town. Round timber was bought from the nearby forests in order to be processed to boards and planks in the facility. The main destination of the sawnwood was and is the export-country of Italy.

Already in the thirties of the twentieth century the output could substantially be increased by the use of a frame saw. The worldwide economic crisis and the following years of second worldwar were mastered by diligence and circumspection.

After the war the buildup work was intensely started and in 1954 they went about the set-up of a new saw edifice and the enhancement of the timber- and woodyard. The sawmill was adapted for the use of forklifts.

In 1959 Simon Jaritzīs son Wilhelm Jaritz took over the management of the sawmill. During his direction there was the startup of a chopping and chipping machine and a chipping silo. Simultaneoulsy with the renewal of the motorpool all the trucks were equipped with loading cranes as well.

After the early death of Wilhelm in the year of 1966 his brother Erich Jaritz was assigned with the direction of the sawmill. In the year 1974 the facility underwent a widely renewal of  the machinery equipment. By the end of the seventieth a decortication-facility with an annexed round timber sorting plant was added, because henceforth decortications were no longer carried out in the forests. In order to match with the trend of the market a multiblade circular saw was installed in 1988. Very soon from now on the manual round timber measuring in the forests was replaced by an electronic device in the sawmill.

Here the round timber from the surrounding forestal areas is being processed to white sawn timber, a part of which is brought to market in the establishment in Klagenfurt. The main part goes to export to Italy anyway.

Erich Jaritz retired in 1997 and since then the management has been remained in the hands of his son Martin Jaritz. And in order to correspond to the increasing specifications of the Italian market a packet-facility was constructed in 1997 and in 2002 a drying chamber was set up, which is supplied with energy from a 2001 erected biomass cogeneration plant. Not only own timber can be dried here, but also boards and planks for other sawmills.

In the year 1955 the sawmill Del Torso was acquired in the city of Klagenfurt in Rosentaler Strasse. After shutting down the  sawmill plant at the beginning of the sixties the trading company for joinery materials, such as particle boards, sawnwood, fibreboards, planed wood, panels, doors and accessories was started and the company office was relocated from the Bahnhofstrasse 47 to the new company area at the end of the sixties.

The sawing hall was adapted in 1968 and the production facility for the  fabrication of inner doors was established. At the beginning of the seventieth a planing machine and multiblade saw machine were acquired as well as the installation of a timber drying chamber. Sawnwood from the sawmill in Ferlach is farther processed here.

In 1979  the new do-it-yourself shop was commissioned.  In the eighties the two gentlemen Johann jr. and Wilhelm jr. took over the management of the trading-company in Klagenfurt.

In 1988 another goods depot for storing particle boards, plywood, planed wooden articles and first-class sawnwood was set up.

In 2000 an edge lipping and banding processing center was activated. In 2001 an ancient corporate dwelling house was adapted and chiefly reorganized into a timber-stockroom. In the middle of 2002 a new panel sizing machine was actuated, in order to get better results concerning the quality of the cuts.
